Catching Up

Journal Entry: Wed Jul 29, 2009, 6:16 AM

Once upon a time, there was girl (who went by Lena online :) ) who left dA for a few weeks one summer. She went off to have fun at writing camp, the beach, and more. When she returned, she realized her account was being obstructed by an enormous DRAGON! It was a dragon of about countless messages and deviations. She was dismayed to find that it would take lots of time and effort to slay this dragon, if she wanted to save all of its parts for various uses (dragon horns, when hollowed, make fantastic wine glasses; the claws are great on necklaces; and have you ever seen roof shingles made out of dragon scales?).
But there was a short cut. She could, essentially, slay the dragon and throw it all out, leaving it to feed the garden with its decaying flesh. She wasn't sure if she wanted to take the time to reap the rewards of harvesting its many treasures, or if she wanted to get rid of it and not really look at it ever again.
Maybe she could do a little of both. Maybe she could skim the body for valuable parts and trash the rest, risking losing a few treasures when she did so. But even that would take a lot of time.
Either way, she wanted to ask everyone on dA for their patience, to tell them she missed them, and to report that she would attempt to slay the dragon a bit at a time over the next few days/weeks.

She also hasn't forgotten the contest prizes. She just wants to wait till the end of summer so people are here to enjoy them. ;)

And she hopes everyone's summer went well!

The end.
